Hello fellow educators. This blog has been set up as a means for sharing thoughts and ideas related to our work with young children. Although this site has my name, it belongs to all of us. If you have never blogged before, now is a GREAT time to start. If you're not sure what a blog really is, or it's purpose...take a look at what Dean Shareski has shared about blogs. Over the course of the next few months, we will engage teachers in discussions about curriculum, professional books, readings, in-service and more. Please remember this is a public space for all to read. While we do not all have to agree, respect for one another is must.
The the "WHAT'S A BLOG TOUR" by Blogger.com. You may find you want to set up a blog for your classroom. If you're wondering what can be gained from blogging, read what Dana Huff shared in her blog. She has some good advice on where to find blogs, engaging in the conversations, and how to keep up with your favorite blogs. Kristin Hokanson has a site that explains what is an educational blog and why you should consider doing it.

You rock, Cindy! This is awesome. It has so much potential for linking our pk and K teachers. I enjoyed reading your personal blog and educated myself on blogging with some of your links.

Thanks for your comments. I think this will be a great way for teachers to get (and stay) connected with one another. As I mentioned the other day, it's not always easy to get out after school to make it to all the meetings. It's not to say that it's less of a priority, just timing. This way, we can all have a voice in matters that are of interest/concern. Thanks again!

I am excited about this concept too. What a wonderful way for teachers to be able to share all the great ideas they have:)
With that in mind, Michele and I have been working on a class project on gender differences, looking at different strategies to use in the classroom for boys and girls based on different learning styles. I am particularly interested in ways teachers are incorporating music and movement into other activities or routines. Anyone have a great idea to share?

I am impressed to see Early Childhood getting into ICT integration. I am going to a conference in a few weeks that has lots of stuff on early childhood as well as primary and it is awesome to see the children getting the opportunities when they are so young. Mine is a Year 2 class (6 and 7 year olds) in Auckland, NZ.
Your little ones might like the movies we have made on the reporter blog - we illustrate our stories and then voice record them and make them into a movie.
I would love to know if you have a blog with children's work on it, or if you ever do please let me know.
